Sweet dreams, my love

Paws, lovingly nicknamed "MegaPaws", passed away this morning after a really terrible 48 hours, the worst of his last 4 weeks.
He spiraled downward so quickly in his last 24 hours and finally let me know he was not going to be able to recover from this most recent, unrelenting episode.

I will upload photos and videos sometime soon so we can remember Paws in the happy times, and not just during his sickness.

Thank you to everyone for their love and support, and for all the messages and calls too.

Right now, Momma is crying and cuddling with his brother, Trot, and are going to get through this difficult time together.

Like Paws always says, "Big love & Woofs to all."

Woof.

  4. I am so very, very sorry for your loss. You were great parents and tried everything possible for your big man. He will meet you someday at the Rainbow Bridge, pain free and well.

I would like to thank you so much for this site! I too have a dog with MegaEsophagus. Your blogs and this entire site have helped me so much! It is the best site on the Internet! I was concerned my baby girl (14 years old) may have been misdiagnosed, but after finding your site, I realized she was not. Your blogs, videos, pictures and recipes are perfect. Thank you so much!!!

    Rainbow Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    1. My heart goes out to you. It is so tough but it's not a death sentence. I hope you have a Bailey chair - that was a lifesaver. There is info on the Resources tab. What type of dog is your baby girl? What's her name? Please feel free to email me anytime "helpmegapaws @ yahoo.com" - no spaces. My thoughts and prayers are with you. As Paws always said, "Big love & Woofs!". Hugs, Momma

    3. Do you have a Bailey chair yet? If not, where do you live? Email me privately so it's not public info. Just wondering if Paws' chair could be an option. Email me if you want. Big Love & Woofs!
